President Tatar’s Message for World Art Day

President Ersin Tatar Expresses Support for Art and Artists on World Art Day
On April 15, World Art Day was celebrated globally and in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). President Ersin Tatar took the occasion to publish a message highlighting the role of art in society and pledging his support for artists in the TRNC.
In his message, President Tatar noted that art plays a vital role in fostering social and human life. He praised artists in the TRNC for their ability to touch on social issues and convey deep passages of life through a universal language, style, and creativity. These artists, Tatar said, are a sine qua non of the country’s intellectual world.
The President further emphasized that strengthening spiritual values through art is an important aspect of developing the intellectual and cultural identity of the society. Art instills the importance of social belonging to individuals, develops critical thinking, and teaches humanity to look at events from a different perspective. For this reason, Tatar pledged his continued support for art and artists under all circumstances, as conditions permit.
The President also noted that art has a crucial role to play in overcoming the inhuman embargoes and restrictions imposed on Turkish Cypriots. The integrative and universal style and language of art are powerful tools for promoting the country and embodying its existence in a global context.
Finally, President Tatar congratulated the World Art Day of the artists and art lovers who work for Turkish Cypriot art and wished them well. He thanked the artists who have put their signature under qualified works on a global scale and promoted the country through their efforts.
Overall, President Tatar’s message on World Art Day was a clear expression of his commitment to nurturing the vibrant artistic community in the TRNC and recognizing the value of art in fostering society’s growth and development.
