President Tatar: Famagusta Turkish Maarif College has a very special place in our hearts. We will carry this pain in our hearts as long as we live. We will do everything we can to keep their name alive.

President Ersin Tatar visited Famagusta Turkish Maarif College, where our champion angels, who lost their lives in the Isias Hotel in Adıyaman, were educated in the earthquake disaster in Turkey.

President Tatar, who was greeted with great love and enthusiasm by teachers and students, said the following in his speech;

“We cannot forget this pain. As we promised, we started our efforts to use all the contributions made in the gym. This school has a different meaning for us. It is also very important that you continue your education in this school without interruption. We see that all teachers and students are in great solidarity to overcome this difficult process. Our people, we and the Republic of Turkey will overcome this process together in unity and solidarity. It is always in our hearts to be with you. Good luck to you all. Everyone’s heart is with you.
Not only in our country, but also in the Republic of Turkey, the pain of the champion angels we lost is shared.

Dear children, it is our wish that you receive a good education and contribute to the future of the country as successful individuals.
Famagusta Turkish Maarif College has a very special place in our hearts. We all have a responsibility in this regard. The name of this school is now at its peak. Our champion angels are mentioned both abroad and in the Republic of Türkiye. This pain has been everyone’s pain. It will be a special honor for you to graduate from such a school.
Our champion angels have tied us together. The TRNC has learned a lesson from this incident. We became one heart, we all worked together and we cried together…
I fully believe that you will do your best to be successful in all kinds of activities on behalf of our angels. We will carry this pain in our hearts as long as we live. We will do everything we can to keep their name alive. I believe that you, as today’s students, will work hard to become even more successful in the memory of your friends. Your success is important to us.
With the sparkle in your eyes, you will work for the future of the TRNC and be successful, and you will be among the people who will rule this country. The future is yours. TRNC will be entrusted to you. You deserve to live in a much better TRNC, you deserve it. I wish you all success and kiss your eyes. We will never forget the lives we lost, I wish God’s mercy on them and patience for their families and you.»

President Tatar signed the memory book after addressing the teachers and students.

The article of President Tatar in his memoir is as follows;

“In the earthquake disaster that occurred in Pazarcık and Elbistan districts of Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023, our brothers living in Kahramanmaraş, Adıyaman, Gaziantep, Kilis, Adana, Osmaniye, Diyarbakır, Hatay, Şanlıurfa and Malatya lost their lives, as well as Adıyaman to represent our country on the same date. Turkish Maarif College Star Boy and Star Girl volleyball students in , and their accompanying teachers, parents and students lost their lives.

The fact that the Turkish Maarif College Yıldız Boys and Stars Girls volleyball students in Adıyaman representing our country and the teachers, parents and students accompanying them lost their lives in the earthquake disaster of the century broke our hearts and we were deeply saddened.
Upon the failure to hear from the Turkish Maarif College Star Boys and Star Girls Volleyball team in Adıyaman at the first moment of the earthquake disaster of the century, the Earthquake Crisis Committee formed in the Presidency under my chairmanship, starting early in the morning of February 6, 2023, and all the facilities and facilities of the TRNC State. search and rescue activities were initiated at the site.

From the first moment on the initiation of the judicial process regarding the hotel where our champion angels, whom we have sadly lost, stayed, I continue to make every effort to initiate and advance the process with the authorities of the Republic of Turkey, and to punish the criminals as soon as possible.
Now, after the earthquake disaster of the century, there is before 6 February and after 6 February. We feel the pain of champion angels in our hearts at every moment. The pain of the families of our champion angels is the pain of all of us.
May God have mercy on our champion angels who lost their lives in the earthquake disaster; My condolences to their families, relatives and all our people.”

In his speech, School Principal Savaş Moralı thanked President Tatar for his visit to the school and stated that despite the disaster, the second half of the school continued uninterruptedly with the measures taken.
Moralı expressed his belief that motivation will increase if a monumental hall is brought to the school as soon as possible.

President Tatar then went to the Famagusta Cemetery, visited the tomb of the champion angels and prayed.
