New talent for national drones — Breaking News

Zyrone Dynamics, a technology company that produces unmanned aerial vehicles, and CTech, which provides software and communication solutions, collaborated for the remote control of drones.

CTech’s patented MOBIoT product, which allows multi-channel communication, was integrated into the ZCQM aircraft developed by Zyrone Dynamics, providing near real-time data communication and image transfer, and the aircraft was controlled beyond sight.

In this way, the aircraft stationed in Ankara-Ayaş was controlled from Qatar-Doha and successfully performed its mission flight.

With this development, which opens the door to a product family that will meet the needs of different sectors, it has become possible to make over-vision and autonomous control of electricity and pipelines, wind turbines and base station controls, especially public space and facility security.

The system, which provides continuity with 4.5G and satellite communication between urban buildings where RF links may be interrupted, can continue to communicate via satellite connection in rural areas where the coverage of the 4.5G network is difficult. Thus, a solution to the coverage problem is provided with a light, mobile and broadband system that even mini drones can use.

Manual and autonomous use with high performance

For the project, Zyrone’s ZCQM drone and CTech’s MOBIoT software and hardware infrastructure with «mobile IOT multi-channel communication technology» were used.

Developed to combine multiple 4.5G networks with satellite and RF link, to transmit data and images uninterruptedly, MOBIoT has been modified to integrate with ZCQM’s avionics architecture with universal interfaces, enabling digital communication to control the vehicle as well as image transmission.

The MOBIoT integrated into the aircraft transmitted the image and telemetry data received from the aircraft to servers with high bandwidth connections in a secure manner, minimizing the possibility of data interruption. These data coming to the secure server were processed with near real-time latency in the relevant image analysis and vehicle control software. In this way, the ZCQM line-of-sight can be deployed either manually or autonomously, with performance similar to that of a data link.

The system, which also supports the 5G infrastructure, will be able to function with higher performance in environments where this infrastructure is installed.

It will make things easier in many sectors

The drone, with satellite control capability, will provide unique solutions in applications that require over-sight data connection such as border and facility security, especially in scenarios requiring autonomous inspections of power transmission lines, base stations, oil pipelines and emergency response.

Apart from these, the current integration will be implemented for the purpose of beyond-sight delivery and aircraft tracking on Zyrone’s ZCOM aircraft specialized for carrying heavy cargo loads. It will increase the share of locality in foreign markets, where Zyrone is currently involved for this purpose.

In addition to geometric form changes and weight reductions, application-specific camera integrations are also targeted in the integration roadmap. The final product activity, which will start with high resolution daytime cameras, will diversify with thermal and multi-spectral camera options.

Their abilities will increase even more

Murat Kanber, co-founder of Zyrone Dynamics, said that there are aircraft serving in various sectors in different countries.

Stating that by integrating the product developed by CTech into their drones, Kanber stated that they enable the aircraft to be controlled beyond sight and to transmit images, and that this way, the use of aircraft in the world market will expand with applications such as the control of power lines and oil pipelines, especially in the cargo sector, and the rate of domesticity in these vehicles will increase. stressed.

Explaining that they controlled the drone in Ankara from Qatar within the scope of the scenario of inspection of the oil pipelines and provided near real-time image transmission, Kanber said, «There are many areas where UAVs with this capability can be used. These areas can be enriched with various payloads and customized according to needs. We will complete our productization activities by integrating different payloads. CTech’s product will also be customized according to UAVs, take different shapes and develop its capabilities.» he said.

From the smallest to the largest UAV

CTech Business Development Manager Caner Törn said that they produce critical communication technologies for air, land and sea platforms to perform autonomous tasks.

Emphasizing that they focus on eliminating the constraints of each communication channel in the products and solutions they have developed, and ensuring uninterrupted communication by using them together, Törn said:

«With this capability, we undertake important missions in unmanned sea, land and air vehicles. We provide full independence with our national products on the communication side. With our cooperation with Zyrone, we use this capability from the smallest UAV to the largest UAV, and produce solutions in the military and civil field. We have achieved very successful results in our experiments.Currently, we can provide uninterrupted communication in the civil and security fields with our completely national and original products that use multiple communication channels together.MobioT, whose software and hardware were developed by CTech and works in a multi-channel architecture, enables all operators’ GSM, LTE and 5G networks to be synchronized. With MOBIoT, we actually create a broadband. In this way, we transfer a high-resolution image with uninterrupted and low latency. We use a patented multi-channel communication algorithm. When you leave the coverage area of a network, you can continue with another technology. We are totally dependent on the command room as energy permits. We have passed such a limit in communication, we have achieved this with Zyrone. We also see a response in many application areas.»

Zyrone Dynamics and CTech have partnered to remotely control drones using multi-channel communication technology that allows for real-time data transfer and image communication beyond the line of sight. CTech’s MOBIoT technology was integrated into Zyrone’s ZCQM aircraft, allowing it to be successfully controlled from Qatar-Doha. The partnership aims to create a product family with applications across different sectors, including the unmanned inspection of power transmission lines and pipelines, as well as public space and facility security. The system can communicate through 4.5G and satellite connections between urban buildings and uses satellite connections in rural areas with limited network coverage. The product is expected to launch with daytime cameras and will later expand to thermal and multi-spectral camera options.
